  chances until at least Tuesday.

.SHORT TERM /THROUGH SATURDAY/...
Issued at 1253 AM MDT Fri Jun 6 2025

An upper level trough remains in place across the easternmost
part of the area this morning but this feature is quickly being
displaced by a ridge of high pressure that will build in
throughout the day. Early morning satellite imagery shows some
continued clouds in place across the eastern half of the area
courtesy of the aforementioned trough but these will be replaced
by mainly clear skies by daybreak and for much of the day. Will
likely see a brief period of some mid/high level clouds later
this afternoon and evening but these will quickly disappear by
the time we get into Saturday AM with blue skies expected
throughout the day Saturday. Temperatures begin their upward
climb more noticeably today with mid to upper 70s expected in
the lower elevations for daytime highs but as the ridge
strengthens throughout the day and into Saturday, these highs
will climb into the low to mid 80s for the first part of the
weekend. Winds today and tomorrow generally stay light with
afternoon gusts around 15 to 20 mph, nothing overly unusual for
our area. Not expecting any precipitation during the next couple
of days.

&&

.LONG TERM /SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY/...
Issued at 1253 AM MDT Fri Jun 6 2025

The ridge continues to intensify as we move into Sunday but not
nearly as quickly as models showed over the previous day. It`ll
still be above normal temperature-wise, by about 10 degrees, but
models now hold off on any 90s for Sunday keeping things
generally in the low to upper 80s, highest in the Magic Valley.
H5 heights look to be maximized now on Monday or even into
Tuesday and these look to be the days where some widespread 90s
can be realized throughout the Snake Plain and Magic Valley. Not
expecting any precip chances Sunday and Monday but models
continue to break the ridge down on Tuesday allowing for
increased cloud cover and PoPs throughout the area. Once this
occurs, the upper level pattern becomes more active with a
trough digging down into the area allowing for a series of weak
features to move through, or near, the region. This should allow
for a slight downward tick in temperatures with increased cloud
cover and also bring daily shower/thunderstorm chances from
Wednesday and to the end of the work week next week. Could also
see a few breezy days with a tightening pressure gradient over
the region.

&&

.AVIATION /12Z TAFS THROUGH 12Z SATURDAY/...
Issued at 406 AM MDT Fri Jun 6 2025

VFR conditions expected to prevail through the period. Some clouds
early this morning will diminish after daybreak with mostly clear
skies in place but a weak trough will move through during the
afternoon and evening bringing some mid/high level clouds but no
precipitation is expected. Winds may pick up a touch during this
time period to around 10 kts or so with some occasional gusts to
15kts possible. Skies will clear later tonight as high pressure
builds in quickly which will lead to light winds and mostly clear
skies for Saturday.

&&

.FIRE WEATHER...
Issued at 1253 AM MDT Fri Jun 6 2025

A dry weather pattern begins today as high pressure begins to
build over the region. This will send temperatures upward into
the weekend and early next week with no precipitation forecast
through the day Monday. On Tuesday, it appears the ridge will
begin to break down and this is when daily shower/storm chances
look to return to eastern Idaho and continue through the
remainder of next week. The warm temperatures over the weekend
will allow for afternoon RHs to drop to around 15-25 percent
each day helping to dry things out across the region.
